A Turkish company plans to employ more than 2,000 Uzbek construction workers, as per to the press service of Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers.
The issue was discussed during talks between Migration Agency Director Behzod Musaev and Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Protection Vedat Isıkhan. During the meeting, the sides reached several agreements related to labor migration and employment cooperation.
Among the key outcomes, the parties agreed to continue the practice of legalizing Uzbek citizens who are residing in Turkey without proper documentation, without applying deportation measures. In addition, starting from March 1, 2026, Uzbek nationals who have permanently resided in Turkey for at least three years will be eligible to receive work permits for the first time.
The discussions also covered plans to enhance institutional cooperation on labor demand. The sides agreed to prepare an agreement on the centralized identification of in-demand professions by the Turkish employment agency ISKUR, operating under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, with relevant applications to be submitted to Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency.
Separately, the Migration Agency reached an agreement with the Turkish company KSK Temizlik to employ 2,500 Uzbek citizens in the construction of major projects in Ankara by 2026.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would also be able to send seasonal agricultural workers to South Korea.
