The Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan (MIIT), Laziz Kudratov, met with Charlotte Adriaen, Head of the Central Asia and Afghanistan Unit at the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission (DG INTPA), and Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional initiatives, as per to the ministry’s press service on February 10.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the current state and future directions of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union within the framework of ongoing joint projects. Key areas of discussion included digitalization, transport infrastructure, critical raw materials, and water management, which were identified as priority sectors for collaboration.
The participants also exchanged views on expanding the strategic partnership through enhanced use of existing dialogue platforms and business cooperation mechanisms involving the EU, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to deepen practical cooperation and maintain a constructive dialogue across the identified priority areas, with a focus on implementing joint projects and strengthening regional integration.
