A new $10mn copper and aluminum wire production facility is being built in Uzbekistan’s Dangara district, Fergana region, in partnership with investors from Tajikistan. The plant is being developed by “Osiyo Kabellari” and is set to launch operations in December 2025.

The project is financed entirely through foreign direct investment and aims to create 100 permanent jobs. It will be built on a 1-hectare site and is expected to produce 15,000 tons of copper and 1,700 tons of aluminum wire annually, with a total estimated output value of UZS 260bn ($20.5mn).
Regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with Tajik investor Shukhradjon Ashurmatov and his Fergana-based partner, Fatima Imamova, to discuss progress on the project. They reviewed plans to accelerate construction and connect the facility to necessary engineering and communications infrastructure. Bozorov pledged full support and practical assistance to ensure timely completion.

Exports will form part of the plant’s operation, with an initial $1mn worth of products expected to be shipped to CIS countries, particularly Kyrgyzstan. The plant is also projected to contribute UZS 28bn ($2.2mn) in tax revenues to the state budget.
In 5M25, trade between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan totaled $265.7mn— up from $261.7mn last year but still below the $285.4mn recorded in the same period of 2023.
