At the Second Central Asia–China Summit held in Astana, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China will provide CNY 1.5bn (over $208mn) in grants to the five Central Asian countries in 2025 to support key development projects aimed at improving public welfare.

“We are ready to provide CNY 1.5bn (more than $208mn) in free grants this year to support key projects in five countries to improve people's well-being and promote their development,” Xi Jinping stated during the summit.
In addition to financial assistance, China will offer 3,000 vocational training quotas over the next two years to Central Asian citizens, further strengthening cooperation in education and capacity building.
Highlighting the importance of cultural and educational exchanges, Xi Jinping announced that Chinese universities will open courses focused on the languages of Central Asian countries, reinforcing ties beyond economic cooperation.

The Chinese president also emphasized the need to enhance collaboration on regional security.
“It is important to create a comprehensive security system that ensures long-term peace and stability,” he said.
Xi called for greater coordination in law enforcement, efforts to counter extremist ideologies, and joint action to maintain regional peace.
President Xi reaffirmed China’s support for modernizing Central Asia’s security systems, pledging assistance in combating terrorism, organized crime, and ensuring cyber and biological security.
The summit also included bilateral talks between President Xi and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 17 in Kazakhstan, where both leaders discussed regional development and cooperation priorities.
