Kazakhstan's Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliev, and Yu Huijiao, Chairman of the Board and founder of YTO Express, recently announced plans to establish one of Central Asia's largest e-commerce distribution centers. The initiative aims to improve the efficiency of processing and delivering goods to the European Union, Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and throughout Central Asia.
The new distribution center will leverage advanced IT solutions to automate logistics processes and facilitate customs procedures, ensuring efficient handling of international shipments. Discussions during the meeting focused on fostering mutually beneficial cooperation in e-commerce and related sectors.
Minister Shakkaliev highlighted Kazakhstan's robust e-commerce growth, citing an annual expansion rate exceeding 20%. He stressed Kazakhstan's strategic geographic position, aiming to become a pivotal transit hub for international e-commerce.
"The e-commerce market in China sets a remarkable precedent with over 70% of sales occurring online. Kazakhstan's collaboration with Kazpost to establish this distribution center marks a significant milestone in enhancing cross-border trade," stated Minister Shakkaliev.
Yu Huijiao emphasized the project's uniqueness in Central Asia, emphasizing its comprehensive coverage across the region. YTO Express. plans not only to develop this center in Kazakhstan but also to establish five additional distribution hubs globally, including locations in the USA, Brazil, Thailand, Budapest, and Dubai.
"We have initiated a fruitful collaboration with Almaty Akimat last year. This long-term venture will bolster productive ties between our countries. Our project spans Central Asia and beyond, enhancing global logistics capabilities," noted Yu Huijiao.
Both parties expressed eagerness to expedite the project, with Kazakhstan committing to ongoing cooperation. A joint action plan is set to be signed shortly, marking a pivotal advancement in regional economic integration and international online commerce.
This venture is poised to fortify economic partnerships and propel the growth of international trade across Central Asia and beyond.
