Uzbekistan's trade with Pakistan saw a notable increase, reaching almost $153mn in 1Q24, the State Statistics Agency reports. This marks almost 20% growth compared to the same period in 2023 when trade stood at $127.3mn.
Uzbekistan's exports to Pakistan were a major driver of this growth, totalling $106.4mn from January to April 2024. This reflects a substantial 57.4% increase over the same period last year when exports were valued at $67.6mn.
Conversely, Uzbekistan's imports from Pakistan saw a decline, reaching $46.3mn in 1Q24. This represents a 22.2% decrease compared to the corresponding period in 2023 when imports stood at $59.7mn.
Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover reached almost $30bn in 1Q24, indicating a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2023 when it was $19.7bn.
During this period, Uzbekistan's largest trade turnover was recorded with China, totalling nearly $4bn. Russia followed closely behind with a total trade turnover of $3.8bn, while Kazakhstan ranked third with $1.2bn.
