Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan agreed to establish a joint logistics centre in Turgundi, located on the Afghan-Turkmen border. The decision was reached during a trilateral meeting in Kabul, attended by Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyev, Minister of Trade and Industry of Afghanistan Nooruddin Azizi, and Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin.
The agreement aims to establish preferential tariffs for exports of Afghan goods, increase supplies of marble, limestone, and other minerals from Afghanistan, expand trade and transit agreements between the three countries, and establish oil and gas supplies from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
Special attention was paid to the development of railway infrastructure in Afghanistan, the reduction of transport and transit costs, and the strengthening of banking ties to facilitate mutual settlements.
The establishment of a joint logistics centre is expected to optimize cargo flows, speed up customs clearance, and increase the efficiency of transit traffic between the countries of the region.
