The Uzbekistan government is taking steps to combat corruption within its borders, as outlined in the National Strategy for the Fight Against Corruption until 2030. A key component of this strategy is the establishment of a comprehensive system to track and address corruption-related crimes.
Furthermore, the internal control structures within various sectors of civil service will conduct thorough analyses to determine the root causes behind corruption crimes. Based on these findings, targeted measures will be implemented to address the underlying factors contributing to corrupt practices.
Another notable initiative is the introduction of online monitoring systems for court decisions. This system will allow for real-time tracking of decisions made by higher courts and prosecutors across all regions of Uzbekistan. By providing transparent access to court rulings, this measure aims to prevent unjust or illegal judgments from being enforced and ensure accountability within the judicial system.
Moreover, statistical data on individuals held accountable by the courts and the corresponding punishment measures will be systematically collected and analyzed. This cross-sectional analysis will enable authorities to assess trends in corruption crimes, evaluate the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts, and devise strategies for mitigating future occurrences.
Earlier Daryo reported that Uzbekistan has made significant strides in global rankings, moving up five positions to secure 121st place out of 180 countries with a score of 33 points. This improvement places Uzbekistan ahead of nations such as Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. The country's score increased by 2 points over the year, indicating positive progress in combating corruption.
