Petrofac (UAE) has been awarded an operations contract from state-owned Turkmengas at the Galkynysh Gas Field, reports Turkmenistan Habarlal Portaly.
The three-year contract includes: provision of personnel to supervise and support operations and maintenance activity; the provision of technical support and procurement services; and the development and implementation of management systems to support efficient operations of the Galkynysh Central Processing Facilities.
Galkynysh is the world's largest onshore gas field and a source of supply for China and the CIS. The supergiant may also become a raw material base for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which has been under construction since 2015.
All industrial developments at Galkynysh are being carried out under service contracts, including with companies from the UAE - in 2013, Petrofac and Gulf Oil & Gas Fze implemented a $4bn project there. Turkmengaz has also recently signed a Memorandum of cooperation with ADNOC (UAE) within the framework of the Galkynysh project.
