In a series of diplomatic engagements on the sidelines of the III Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, engaged in fruitful discussions with several counterparts from across the globe on March 2, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Among the notable figures Nurtleu met were Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Russia; Bakhtiyor Saidov, MFA of Uzbekistan; Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan; Juraj Blanar from Slovakia; Bujar Osmani representing North Macedonia; and Mikhail Popsha from Moldova.
During his meeting with Sergey Lavrov, both parties expressed high regard for the current level of relations between Kazakhstan and Russia. They delved into discussions about the present state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, while also aligning their positions on various international and regional issues.
With Bakhtiyor Saidov of Uzbekistan, Nurtleu explored avenues for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, underscoring the importance of identifying new areas of growth and boosting trade volume between the two nations.
Key aspects of interaction across political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian domains were discussed with Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan. The talks also focused on enhancing trade turnover and leveraging transit and transport potential for mutual benefit.
Nurtleu's conversations with the Foreign Ministers of Slovakia, North Macedonia, and Moldova revolved around the current state and future trajectories of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Prospects for collaboration in various sectors, including trade, economics, and investment, were highlighted and reaffirmed.
Moreover, within the forum's framework, bilateral discussions took place between Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry and Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, and Aktota Raimkulova, President of the International Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage.
These discussions centered on fostering cooperation among member countries, exploring joint projects for Turkic integration, and preserving and promoting Turkic cultural heritage. Both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkic nations.
The III Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which took place from March 1 to 3, 2024, under the patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, brought together global leaders, diplomats, experts, and media to delve into the theme "Advancing Diplomacy in Times of Turmoil." Discussions centered on pressing challenges including conflicts, terrorism, climate change, and AI risks, with the objective of redefining diplomacy beyond conventional dialogues and presenting innovative solutions to navigate the complexities of global turbulence.
