To bolster environmental sustainability and address pressing water and waste management challenges, the Government of Uzbekistan convened a meeting with a high-profile delegation from Suez Group, a global leader in environmental services, the government portal of Uzbekistan reported.
Led by Eric Ghebali, Senior Executive Vice President for International Development at Suez Group, the French delegation engaged in discussions with Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, alongside other key stakeholders. The meeting aimed to explore potential avenues for collaboration between Uzbekistan and the Suez Group in advancing environmental initiatives within the country.
Suez Group, renowned for its innovative approaches to environmental conservation, specializes in a wide array of services including water treatment, waste collection and recycling, energy recovery, and environmental consulting. With a steadfast commitment to sustainability, the company operates on a global scale, undertaking projects that promote resource conservation and environmental protection.
The French delegation comprised notable figures such as Paul Bourdillon, Executive Director for Central Asia and European countries, Vincent Amar, Chief Financial Officer for Europe Central Asia, Alain Carbonel, Chief Operating Officer for Central Asia and the Caucasus, Umid Akbarov, Business Development Director for Central Asia, and Julien Maigne, Suez International SAS Tashkent Project Manager.
Discussions primarily revolved around water and wastewater management projects, emphasizing the critical need for sustainable solutions in these domains. Both parties deliberated on potential collaboration frameworks aimed at bolstering water infrastructure, optimizing wastewater treatment processes, and integrating innovative technologies to combat environmental challenges effectively.
Expressing enthusiasm for the partnership, representatives from both sides affirmed their readiness to establish strategic relations to advance Uzbekistan's environmental agenda and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
