Techstars Startup Weekend Central Asia is underway in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, bringing together innovators from across the region from March 1 to March 3 at the New Uzbekistan University in Tashkent. The event, expanding its reach to encompass Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, aims to foster collaboration and innovation in Central Asia.
Opportunities for Enthusiasts
The hackathon provides a platform for young enthusiasts to gain knowledge, network with industry professionals, and launch startup ideas. Participants mingle with mentors and guests from across Central Asia, contributing to partnerships and regional collaborations.
Participants pitch their startup ideas, form teams, and work on prototypes over three days. They receive guidance from industry professionals in startup, finance, marketing, and product management.
On the second day, participants attend workshops on Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and customer validation, followed by prototype development. Experts from the startup sector share their insights and guide teams.
Final Presentations and Rewards
On the third day, teams finalize presentations and present them to judges. Teams are evaluated based on Best Customer Validation, Best Business Model, and Best Market Potential. The top three startups receive rewards to further develop their Minimum Viable Products.
The hackathon is organized by local leaders of Techstars, a global startup accelerator, in collaboration with partners such as Alif Tech and a joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. These organizations are committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.
