At the Uzbekistan Embassy in Warsaw, a gathering convened with Uzbek compatriots engaged in business activities in Poland. The attendees included Uzbek citizens working in prominent banks and IT companies in the country, Dunyo News Agency reported.
The meeting offered insights into the essence of the "New Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy, outlining the government's key priorities to support compatriots abroad. Information about favorable conditions and incentives for investment, education, social initiatives, and various projects in Uzbekistan was shared. Emphasis was placed on ongoing efforts in the republic concerning social welfare, science and education development, and the cultivation of modern, highly qualified personnel.
Compatriots expressed their commitment to contributing to the extensive reforms underway in Uzbekistan, led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. They pledged to leverage their knowledge and experience for the homeland's development.
A noteworthy moment in the event was the award ceremony, where the head of "Uzinvest Sp. z o.o." received the "Khalklar Dustligi" ("Friendship of Peoples") badge for his significant contributions to fostering friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland.
Vohid Mukhitdinov, expressing gratitude for Uzbekistan's support in participating in the "Fast Textile" international exhibition in Warsaw, highlighted that textile enterprises from Uzbekistan secured export contracts worth over $30 mn during the event.
Rasuljon Ibragimov, the director of the JD MEBLE furniture factory in Poland, expressed readiness to mobilize knowledge and experience gained in furniture production for Uzbekistan's economic advancement. He noted the growing interest among Uzbek citizens to invest in the Polish economy, with 140 Poles currently employed in their two furniture factories.
Nizomiddin Abdullayev, head of "Eletto Sp. z o.o.," outlined plans to analyze the Polish wine market thoroughly. He proposed establishing a national trading house to sell domestic wine in Poland, along with organizing advertising campaigns in response to high demand.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the agreement to establish the Association of Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan in Poland. Nizomiddin Abdullaev was approved as the head of this organization during the meeting.
Earlier Daryo reported that Professor Tadeusz Bodio, from the Institute of Political Studies at Warsaw State University, provided insights into the visit's significance, focusing on the ceremony where Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received an international award for combating corruption. Professor Bodio emphasized that the visit has strengthened the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar, expanding beyond economic and political aspects to encompass global collaboration, particularly in anti-corruption efforts. He underscored the award ceremony in Tashkent as evidence of Uzbekistan's increasing role in the international fight against corruption.
