Kyrgyzstan and Germany have entered into a cooperative agreement in the realm of science, research, and innovation. The Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan announced this collaboration, marking a new chapter in the academic and scientific relationship between the two nations.
On December 18, a meeting was held between Dogdurkul Kendirbayeva, the Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan, and Judith Pirscher, the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany. The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany, Omurbek Tekebayev, was also present.
Kendirbayeva emphasized the significance of fostering cooperation in scientific research and innovation. She highlighted the need for bolstering ties in digital education and information technologies, strengthening academic connections between educational institutions and scientific organizations of both countries, promoting the study of the German language in Kyrgyzstan, and facilitating the exchange of experience and transfer of advanced pedagogical methods and technologies between educational institutions of both nations.
Pirscher, representing the German side, expressed readiness to broaden the partnership between the scientific and educational institutions of the two countries.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to host the Days of Kyrgyz-German Science in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2024. This event will further solidify the academic and scientific ties between the two nations.
The parties signed a joint statement of intent on cooperation in the field of science, research, and innovation. This agreement aligns with Germany’s strategy for the internationalization of education, science, and research, which seeks to address global challenges through transborder cooperation. It also builds upon the decade-long cooperation between German scientists and the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG).
