In a diplomatic move, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, landed in Dubai on November 30 for a working visit to the United Arab Emirates. The president's plane touched down at Al Maktoum International Airport, where he was warmly received by Suhail Al Mazrouei, the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
President Japarov is scheduled to participate in the High-Level Segment of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Additionally, he is slated to address the plenary session of the conference, emphasizing Kyrgyzstan's commitment to global climate action.
The Kyrgyz delegation accompanying President Japarov includes key figures from various government departments:
- Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev
- Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Muratbek Azymbakiev
- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to the UAE Abdilatif Zhumabaev
- Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Melis Turgunbaev
- Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev

President Japarov is set to speak at the plenary meeting of COP28 on December 1, where he is expected to address the urgent need for global cooperation in tackling climate change. The Kyrgyz Republic, like many nations, faces the challenges of climate change and is actively participating in international efforts to mitigate its impact.
The visit will also serve as an opportunity for bilateral discussions, as on December 2, several joint documents in the field of energy and investment are scheduled to be signed between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE. Strengthening ties in these areas holds potential for mutual benefit and collaboration.
The working visit will culminate with President Japarov's participation in the celebrations of the UAE National Day, highlighting the amicable relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Arab Emirates.
