Uzbekistan's prowess in karate shone brightly at the recently concluded WKF Asian Karate Championship for juniors and youth held in Kazakhstan, as reported by the National Olympic Committee. The national team of Uzbekistan clinched an unprecedented total of 15 medals, marking a historic achievement for the republic.
The stellar performance comprised three gold, two silver, and ten bronze medals, establishing a new pinnacle in the team's history. In the junior category, gold medals were secured by Abdulwahob Rashidov (67 kg), Mokhinur Teshaboeva (54 kg), and Saida Musakhonova (61 kg). The youth category saw Sevinch Otabeva (61 kg) and Bekzod Zoirov (70 kg) clinching silver medals.
Bronze medals were claimed across various weight classes, with notable victories by Dilmurod Kamoliddinov (55 kg), Shodia Ziyodullaeva (50 kg), Humoyunmirzo Khalimov (52 kg), Isomiddin Karimov (57 kg), Sardor Bakhromov (+70 kg), Diyora Pўlatova (47 kg), Mokhichehra Abduraimova (66 kg), Gulshan Alimardonova (48 kg), and Abdulaziz Rasulov in the kata discipline for juniors.
The team also excelled in the team program on kata among young men, showcasing the depth of talent and dedication within Uzbekistan's karate community.
