A joint Turkmen-German business forum with the participation of Germany's Eastern Economic Committee is to be held in Berlin on 20 November, local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports.
The issue was discussed at a government meeting. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that at the upcoming forum "special attention should be paid to projects aimed at further development of the national economy".
Turkmenistan has registered 196 investment projects and contracts involving German capital worth some $1.6bn. Man, Siemens, Daimler, Claas, Rohde & Schwarz and DresserRand are present on the local market.
Experts told Daryo that Ashgabat is interested in purchasing oil and gas equipment, introducing solar and hydrogen energy technologies, modernising fertiliser production and transport infrastructure.
German companies are being offered to participate in the implementation of water projects, including a mega-project to comprehensively modernise the infrastructure of the Karakum Canal, which was built during the Soviet era.
