The participating countries of the Central Asia-EU format supported the holding of the next anniversary ministerial meeting in 2024 in Turkmenistan. The Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports that this decision was taken during the 19th ministerial meeting in Luxembourg, which was attended by its head Rashid Meredov.
During his speech, the Turkmen Foreign Minister drew attention to the initiative to develop a Global Security Strategy put forward by the the official Ashgabat at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
Meredov also emphasized the importance of interregional financial partnership, creation of new transport links connecting Central Asia and Europe. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding turkmen gas exports to Europe through the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline.
In addition, the Minister proposed to hold a high-level meeting on the development of the Caspian Sea-Black Sea transport route in Turkmenistan next year.
