A week-long celebration of innovation and creativity, "InnoWeek-2023," officially commenced in Uzbekistan with an opening ceremony led by Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov. The event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, is set to run from October 16 to October 20, under the theme "Creative Education and Innovation - The Basis for the Development of New Uzbekistan."
Minister Abdurakhmonov highlighted the significant expansion of this year's event, stating’
"Unlike last year, this year, the week covers not only our capital but the entire republic."
He went on to announce Uzbekistan's remarkable climb to 84th place in the global innovation index, attributing this success to international collaboration. He expressed optimism about further elevating Uzbekistan's standing in the ranking, emphasizing the critical role of science and technology in the nation's economic development. Over the course of the week, more than 60 sites will be engaged in various activities, with the participation of over 450 partners.
The opening ceremony attracted prominent dignitaries from around the world. Notable attendees included Kubanichbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States; Lee Dal Hee, Deputy Governor of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Province of Korea; Thomas Tiers, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia; and Abir Tahlak, State Representative of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Center. Their presence underscores the international significance of "InnoWeek-2023" and reflects the global community's support for Uzbekistan's efforts to foster innovation and creativity.

On October 16, 2023, the grand inauguration of "InnoWeek.uz-2023" unfolded in an impressive fashion, commencing with the Uzbek-Iranian Business Forum. This distinguished forum was dedicated to strengthening the economic bonds between Uzbekistan and Iran, uniting an impressive assembly of visionary business leaders, accomplished scientists, and representatives from over 100 local companies originating from the Islamic Republic of Iran. This event marked the dawn of "InnoWeek.uz-2023," a dynamic and innovative week brimming with potential, set to propel Uzbekistan toward a more prosperous and technologically advanced future.
While the official inauguration of "InnoWeek.uz-2023" was slated for October 17, it commenced with grandeur at 10:00 a.m. within the magnificent "Alpomish" ice palace.
