Türkiye is committed to a sustainable future amidst the ongoing climate change crisis, according to Fahrettin Altun, the country's communications director.
In an article titled "Türkiye's Sustainable Future Vision" for the UK-based Daily Express newspaper, Altun emphasized Türkiye's efforts to protect the environment, including rivers, seas, forests, and biodiversity.
Türkiye is a signatory of major international agreements to safeguard the environment and is dedicated to creating sustainable practices in the country and the region.
Altun highlighted Türkiye's progress in renewable energy, with the country being the fifth-largest producer in Europe and the 12th-largest globally.
Besides, Türkiye has expanded its forest areas that protect against climate change, increased its recycling rate to 30%, and launched various campaigns to promote water conservation.
The goal is to recycle 60% of all recyclable waste by 2035,
he added.
Fahrettin Altun stressed that Türkiye's commitment to sustainability is aligned with global best practices and that the G-20 Conference is an excellent platform to share knowledge and collaborate with like-minded nations.
