Uzbekistan's large enterprises produced 402,100 tons of sugar between January and July 2023, a 9.1% increase from last year, media reports.
In the previous month, the big corporations in Uzbekistan could manufacture 69,500 tons of sugar.
Sugar production is a significant part of Uzbekistan's agriculture, and the country is one of the major sugar producers in Central Asia.
Earlier, Daryo reported Uzbekistan's Ambassador met with Egypt's biggest sugar producer to discuss measures to ensure cultivating sugar beets and producing sugar on 52,000 hectares of land in the Jizzakh region. Nile Sugar is impressed with Uzbekistan's agricultural sector, fertile land, sufficient water supply, and supportive state system for private farmers.
