The Golf Federation of Turkmenistan announces that Ashgabat will host its first international golf tournament from 16 to 22 October 2023.
The event programme also includes an exclusive tour of Ashgabat and the country's famous landmarks.
The infrastructure of the local capital's clubhouse, which covers an area of more than 70 hectares, was designed by the famous American golf company Nicklaus design.
Its opening ceremony in 2017 was attended by Jack Nicklaus, listed as one of the 10 greatest sportsmen of the 20th century. He hosted a demonstration tournament along with his "star" friends Andy North, Nick Price and Larry Nelson.
In 2021, the local federation joined the International Golf Federation (IGF).
