Uzbekistan's Embassy in London and "Uzeltechsanoat" organized a round table on "Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Electrotechnical Industry of Uzbekistan for British Businesses," Dunyo reports.
British companies, associations, and media representatives learned about the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026 and the initiatives presented during the open dialogue between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and entrepreneurs on August 18.
Uzeltehnosanoat representatives gave an online presentation about the rapidly growing electrotechnical industry, which includes over 400 businesses producing 2,000 products. Investment projects were presented for joint high-tech facilities producing cable and household appliances, power equipment, and other electrical products.
Prospects for cooperation with British companies were discussed, utilizing new opportunities for copper product production and export within the "Ohangaron Tech Industrial" Technopark and free economic zone in the Syrdarya region, specifically designed for the electrical industry.
Participants expressed interest in Uzbekistan's renewable energy opportunities, specifically solar and wind. They also noted the potential of exporting electrotechnical products to the British market under the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS), which offers tariff exemptions for goods of Uzbek origin.
