The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Uzbekistan has issued a search notice for two bloggers, with their names posted on the Ministry's website, drawing attention from social media users, Gazeta.uz has reported.
The first individual is Sanjar Ikramov (born 1988), recognized as Sanjar Xo'ja online, with a substantial following of over 200,000 on YouTube, 18,300 on Telegram, and 29,000 on Facebook. He focuses on politics, economics, and psychology and is currently based in Turkey.
He faces charges Article 168 of the Criminal Code (involving significant-scale fraud, punishable by a fine of 300 to 400 BPR, corrective labor of 2 to 3 years, or imprisonment of 5 to 8 years with specific rights revoked).
The second sought-after individual is Sherali Komilov (born 1979), the founder of the YouTube channel Detektiv Uz (17,800 subscribers, 8,140 on Facebook). His content often critiques Abror Abdurazimov, a religious blogger.
Komilov faces charges under section "b" of part 3, Article 168 (repeated or dangerous recidivism of fraud, punishable by a fine of 300 to 400 BPR, corrective labor of 2 to 3 years, or imprisonment of 5 to 8 years with specific rights revoked), and Article 140 of the Criminal Code (insult related to the victim's official or civil duty, punishable by a fine of 400 to 600 BPR, corrective labor of 2 to 3 years, or restriction of freedom for up to 1 year).
