Tajikistan's authorities have reported a traffic accident on the Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog highway. In particular, a truck collided with several cars before crashing into some nearby houses.
The incident has claimed the lives of ten people, while 13 others have been injured. Two of the injured have received first aid, while the remaining have been hospitalized.
However, conflicting reports have emerged regarding the number of injured individuals.
While the regional health department has confirmed thirteen injuries, the Committee for Emergency Situations under the president of the republic has reported fourteen.
The country's Interior Ministry has stated that the incident was caused by a failure in the truck's braking system.
In response, President Emomali Rahmon has ordered the Interior Minister and Health Minister to immediately visit the scene.
An investigation is underway.
