Kyrgyzstan's president Sadyr Japarov decided to extend the duration of custody for his nephew, as it ended on July 26, 24.kg reports.
Ulan Japarov, the 32-year-old nephew of the president, has been arrested in Bishkek on suspicion of involvement in corruption schemes related to customs issues on July 6. He has been held in custody since then.
In reaction to the case Sady Japarov said, - "Every individual will be held accountable for their actions in accordance with the law, irrespective of their connections or family ties."
By the new order, Ulan Japarov is going to remain under arrest until September 26, 2023. He has been placed in remand prison #1 until July 26, the Pervomaiskiy district court states. The investigation is being carried out by the Investigation Service of the Interior Ministry.
