Belgian Challenge Airlines plans to operate flights via Turkmenistan on the routes Ningbo (China) - Ashgabat and Ashgabat - Liege (Belgium).
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium reports that this will include refuelling the aircraft and changing pilots at the international airport of the Turkmen capital.
The information says that the talks between the management of Challenge Airlines and Turkmenistan Airlines focused on logistics issues, including procedures for launching flights of this company through Turkmenistan, and visa support.
"The efforts of the Embassy of Turkmenistan to establish a partnership with Challenge Airlines are aimed at ensuring stable air cargo traffic through Ashgabat, which will bring economic benefits to our country."
In 2016, Turkmenistan's capital city opened a new international airport built by Turkish company Polimeks for more than $2bn.
Challenge Airlines operates cargo services across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. The company is more involved in transporting non-standard cargo, such as temperature-controlled goods, aerospace and automotive products, and animals.
