The Tashkent region administration has announced that the city of Yangiyul is set to begin producing clothing for global brands ZARA and Columbia.
The project will be carried out in collaboration with Turkish company MEDEX TEXTILE, which has pledged to invest $25mn.
The plan will be executed in two stages, starting with the production and dyeing of knitwear, followed by the production of ready-made clothing.
The project is expected to create 500 new jobs and generate exports worth $20-30mn annually.
These details were shared during a meeting between the regional administration and Yavuz Orhan, the head of MEDEX TEXTILE.
