Telegram introduces stories feature
Telegram founder Pavel Durov has announced on June 26 that the long-awaited Stories feature will be introduced to the messaging app at the beginning of July.
Users have been eagerly requesting this feature, with over half of all feature requests related to Stories. Telegram's version of Stories will have unique characteristics such as customizable privacy settings, a compact interface located at the top of the chat list, the option to hide Stories from specific contacts, and the inclusion of captions, links, and tags.
Additionally, Stories will support dual-camera functionality, allowing users to simultaneously publish content from both the front and back cameras. Stories can have expiration dates ranging from 6 to 48 hours, and users will also have the option to save Stories on their profile page.
Telegram is also planning to enable reposting of feed posts to Stories, making it easier for content to go viral on the platform.
