On June 19, unknown assailants shot a mother and her 40-day-old baby in the city of Shaberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province. The infant was tragically killed, and the mother was injured.
The incident's specifics are still unknown, as anonymous sources in Shaberghan City offered this information. Taliban security officers in Jawzjan province, however, verified the incident.
Abdul Sattar Halimi, the spokesman for the Taliban security command in Jawzjan reported that the attackers shot the mother and her baby at about 1:00 a.m. in Sesshanbe hamlet of Shabarghan city. The cause and purpose for the fatal shooting are yet unknown, clarifies Halimi. The Taliban's security team, on the other hand, has already initiated an inquiry to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this horrible murder.
This is not the first violent incident in Jawzjan province in recent weeks. A young man was also killed by unknown assailants last week, on June 12, in the neighborhood of Shaberghan City, the capital of Jawzjan province.
