On June 14, a round table was held at the Center of Analysis of International Relations in Baku, Azerbaijan, focusing on bilateral relations and upcoming presidential elections set for July 9, media reports.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Bobur Usmanov, participated in the event and emphasized the exceptional and unprecedented level of current bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, thanks to the efforts of both nations' presidents.
Deputy FM Bobur Usmanov also shared that Tashkent and Baku have plans to increase their bilateral trade volume to $1bn. Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board at the Center of Analysis of International Relations, highlighted the priority of Azerbaijan's cooperation with Central Asian countries, focusing on Uzbekistan. Shafiyev also noted that in 2022, Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev visited Uzbekistan three times.
