The British business community is interested in expanding its presence in the Turkmen market, Altyn Asyr TV channel reports.
This was stated by British Ambassador Stephen Conlon during his meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdшmuhamedov. The diplomat conveyed words of welcome from His Majesty King Charles III and his country's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
"Great Britain attaches special importance to further strengthening the traditional ties of friendship and fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan," Conlon said.
The head of the state noted "the expediency of negotiations on the integration of advanced achievements of British companies".
Promising areas of partnership include energy, finance, banking, insurance, green technology and agriculture.
Such British companies as De La Rue, Dragon Oil, Gaffney, Cline & Associates operate in the Turkmen market.
UK Export Finance, a governmental organization that serves as the national export credit agency, recently reported that it would like to expand its targeted partnership with Turkmenistan.
The two countries previously signed an intergovernmental convention to eliminate double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital gains.
Participating in the joint business forums are British Expertise International, Aggreko, Arempa International Ltd (FZE), Buried Hill, De La Rue, Global ATS Ltd,
Industrial Power Group, JTA, Rapiscan Systems Ltd, Tensar, TheCityUK.
