The similarity or closeness of the positions of the two countries on the most important issues of international and regional politics was noted.
The British Foreign Office previously reported that Conlon had been head of the European Parliament team since 2022. He has worked on diplomatic missions to the EU, Estonia, and Sweden. He has also represented Finland's UK Trade and Investment Department and has experience in UN structures.
British companies counting De La Rue, Dragon Oil, Gaffney, Cline & Associates, operate in the Turkmen market. Turkmenistan's trade with the UK has fallen to £42m in 2022 from £123m in 2011.
