Kazakhstan's Ministry of Education is scrutinizing corruption risks in financing educational institutions. According to media reports, the analysis is set to thoroughly examine the activities of all heads of preschool, secondary, technical, and vocational education organizations who have held their positions for over seven years.
The governmental department is working in collaboration with anti-corruption authorities to identify and address potential corruption risks associated with competitive procedures, employment, provision of places for children in kindergartens and schools, and long-term irremovability of directors of institutions.
As stated by the Minister of Education, Gani Beisembayev, preliminary data from the analysis shows significant corruption risks, so it was decided to carefully vet all managers who have held positions for over seven years. Furthermore, it is emphasized that each director and accountant's vested interests and performance should be thoroughly examined. The abovementioned indicators would also assess the work of heads of regional education departments.
