Montagne et Neige Développement (MND) has secured a contract to build an all-season resort in Chimgan, according to a statement released by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The deal was inked amid a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held last week in Tashkent.
The French industrial group won the tender in March and unveiled its plans to construct a new complex in Beldersey-Chimgan-Nanai with luxurious hotel accommodations and an all-season mountain park for up to 6,000 visitors.
The all-season mountain park will feature 11 ski runs, offering over 20 winter and summer attractions such as the Alpine coaster, Adventure tower, Tubing, Via Ferrata, etc.
Two cable cars will link the facilities, including a gondola type with booths for ten passengers and an intermediate cable car pendulum type for 80 people, which will become the highest construction of this kind in Central Asia.
The project is estimated to cost €100mn and is expected to attract up to 3.1mn local and foreign tourists annually. Plots for the construction of cottages and hotels will be available for sale through the E-auction, with the project expected to be completed within three years.
