Altai Kulginov, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, announced a shortage of socially significant specialists, Daryo correspondent in Kazakhstan reports with reference to the Informburo.
According to Kulginov, about half of the existing medical facilities in Kazakhstan are run-down and lack equipment.
There are few teachers in the educational sphere of education, and unequal access to digital devices has been recorded. In particular, across 3,000 schools, the Internet connection is not higher than 4 Mbps. The shortage of places for schoolchildren reaches 270,000. Altai Kulginov also drew attention to the fact that in Kazakhstan there are 143 three-shift schools, 52 are in disrepair, and over 300 educational institutions are built of adobe (sun-dried brick) and wood.
The quality of education is also not at the highest level. International studies have shown that the level of knowledge of schoolchildren in Kazakhstan falls behind the average of OECD countries. A noticeable gap remains in the quality of school teaching between the city and regions. The lowest rates were recorded in Mangystau, Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Turkestan, and Almaty regions, according to Kulginov.
