The Russian government plans to conduct an experiment in 2023 to launch a unified system for monitoring and recording information in the field of migration. Tass.ru reports referring to the source from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
It is also planned to digitalize the main part of services for Lamour migrants and sign agreements on the creation of pre-immigration centres in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
The Ministry wants to develop a methodology for assessing the needs of sectors of the Russian economy in labour resources from abroad and update the Concept of State Migration Policy for the period up to 2025.
In mid-April, the former head of the Federation of Migrants of the Russian Federation, Vadim Kojenov, talked about the outdated mechanism of migration registration. He proposed to give the migrant the opportunity to register himself for migration, using either a separate application or public services portal.
