The Ministry of Energy has launched the second round of the bidding procedure for the establishment of a wind power station in Karakalpakstan's Beruni district, for which received nine proposals from international companies, the ministry reports.
Among those, who submitted proposals were:

The project's goal is to build a 200-megawatt wind turbine and energy storage system using batteries. The winning bidder will be in charge of funding, designing, constructing, running, and sustaining the wind turbines and batteries. The station must be abandoned or dismantled at the conclusion of the contract period, and the site must be restored to its previous state.
The power plant will be built in the Beruni area of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Companies that qualified for the tender in the first round will submit technical, commercial, and tariff suggestions. The application deadline is July 29, 2023.
During the contest, applicants may request a deadline extension.
Earlier, three contracts were reached in March between the Saudi ACWA Power company, the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, and the National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan to set up two solar power plants and three energy storage facilities in multiple parts of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan's energy industry is drawing substantial financing from the Persian Gulf, with the country aiming to produce 35% of its power from alternative sources by 2030.
