Russian companies began to ask their partners in Kazakhstan for more help in evading sanctions imposed by the West, Reuters reports citing several sources.
According to the publication, Russian traders have already found various ways to avoid sanctions. As a result, a whole network of goods delivery through third-world countries was created. The majority of goods are brought to Russia through Turkey and former Soviet Union countries.
Sources have testified that requests for help for the delivery of various goods from Russia have increased. These include everything from consumer electronics, metals, and bearings to aircraft parts. Two sources directly linked Russia's growing interest in such goods to Turkey's plans to end the transit of sanctioned goods.
One businessman from Kazakhstan said he was offered $1mn to help transport rare metals originally from Australia. Kazakhstan's government did not respond to Reuters' request for comment.
Sources say the Russians have a huge purchase list that includes industrial equipment, railway bearings, advanced electronics, radio equipment, turbines, aircraft parts, raw materials, and even bank card materials.
