The Islamic Development Bank (ISB) has allotted $200mn for the implementation of the Sustainable Rural Development project in Uzbekistan, media reports.
In particular, the project is aimed at supporting rural areas and ensuring the active participation of its population. Reportedly, a total of one hundred and thirteen plans have been developed. Thirty-one of these would improve 160 social infrastructure facilities in five districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Besides, the road transport infrastructure, engineering, communication networks, and power supply systems are set to be updated and kindergartens, secondary schools, rural medical centers, and other social facilities will be built and reconstructed, the message reads.
