Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent on Wednesday (March 1) held the Uzbek-Spanish Business Forum, chaired by the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade. The Forum was attended by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Oybek Hamraev, Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain Xiana Méndez, as well as over one hundred companies representing the two countries.
Reportedly, Uzbekistan’s GSP+ status helped expand the export of Uzbek products to the EU market by nearly two-fold, and to the Spanish markets - by almost 2.5 times.
Uzbekistan's side proposed to enhance the use of the competitive advantages of the two countries to strengthen bilateral investment cooperation in priority sectors of the economy, including the automotive industry, the pharmaceutical field, the textile industry, etc.
