President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Wednesday (March 1) received the delegation chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Reportedly, the two sides discussed a wide range of current aspects on the agenda of bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic, investment, educational, and cultural-humanitarian spheres and essential elements of regional cooperation.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken conveyed the greetings and best wishes of U.S. President Joseph Biden to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
As noted, the U.S.A. is always determined to support Uzbekistan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The irreversible democratic reforms and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan were highly appreciated and fully supported, as well as in ensuring human rights and gender equality, combating forced labor, and reforms supporting freedom of speech and mass media.
The importance of further development of broad-based cooperation, including promoting effective dialogue on Strategic Cooperation and continuing fruitful exchanges at various levels, was confirmed.
Particular attention was drawn to the development of trade-economic, investment, and innovation cooperation, the expansion of the activities of leading American companies in the market of Uzbekistan, and the implementation of cooperation projects, first of all, in high-tech industries.
