Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Monday (February 20) started the first day of his official visit to Egypt with a meeting with representatives of business circles of the Arab Republic.

The event saw Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce Ibrahim Mahmoud al-Arabi, leaders of large companies such as Elsewedy Electric, El Araby Group, Orascom Construction, Poliserve Group, Al-Rowad, Lotus Garments Group and stressed great potential in bilateral relations, opportunities to expand business and entrepreneurship relations, activate mutual investments between Uzbekistan and Egypt, and increase joint trade volume.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed out that the joint efforts of the business circles of the two countries play a key role in restoring strong collaboration bridges such as the Great Silk Road, which flourished in the past.
Besides, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev highly appreciated the effective results of the Uzbekistan-Egypt business forum, which resulted in agreements on the implementation of over 20 deals and contracts worth $1.6bn.
