In the Kyzyrik district of the Surkhandarya region, 4 perennial maples were hewn down, allegedly by the Bandikhan Scientific Experimental Station specialists. The regional Department of Natural Resources Ministry reports.
On January 21, a report was received from a local resident that trees were being cut down by representatives of the Bandikhan Scientific Experimental Station.
A task group inspected the territory of the Bandikhan Scientific Experimental Station which belongs to the system of the Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Winemaking named after Academician Makhmud Mirzaev, and found 4 fresh stumps of healthy maple trees.
A criminal case has been initiated on one count of law violation "On the Protection and Use of Flora" causing damage in the amount of 216 million soums.
