Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wang Yi held a meeting on Wednesday (February 15) with Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov. Reportedly, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee made a technical stop in Tashkent en route to Europe for a visit and held a brief meeting with Acting Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov at the airport.
In particular, the officials agreed to follow through on the critical consensus the two heads of state reached, push for more results in mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation between China and Central Asia, and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
Besides, the top diplomats reaffirmed their readiness for the comprehensive implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, including following the State visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Central Asian republic in September 2022, Uzbekistan's Foreign Ministry says.

The commitment of the two countries to close cooperation within the framework of the UN, the SCO, and other international institutions were noted.
