In order to speed up the “Yangi O’zbekiston” (New Uzbekistan) project and meet the population's ever-growing demand for housing, the volume of new housing construction will be doubled in 2023. This is provided for in the draft bill of the 2023 State Program.
According to the proposal, the annual volumes of new housing construction by private contracting organizations will be doubled to 90 thousand (in 2022, 44,000) in 53 of the “Yangi O’zbekiston” residential areas and 161 other sites.
Sufficient funds will be allocated from the state budget to provide mortgage loans based on market principles to 26,000 borrowers, as well as subsidies to cover part of the initial contribution and interest payments in the total amount of 1 trillion soums.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev told about the launch of this mortgage program at the session of the Tashkent Regional Council of People's Deputies in October 2022. The President emphasized that every resident of the region should be given the opportunity to get a preferential mortgage for a newly built house. In this regard, it was proposed to start the new mortgage program “Mening birinchi uyim” (My first home) in the Tashkent region.
