Newly appointed Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov on Thursday (January 4) declared 2023 as the year of tackling corruption in the healthcare system, the press service of the government department has reported.
‘There are several areas prone to corruption that is known to many, and we must first put an end to them.
In particular, everyone knows there are vices such as recruitment, especially of nurses, ‘thank-you’ money at the hospital, fixed rates for ‘cesarean sections’, and issuing orders on acquaintances.
Unfortunately, the whole system is tarnished by some unscrupulous individuals who commit these things', the message reads.
Bukhara-born Amrillo Inoyatov, 43, was appointed Uzbekistan's Minister of Health on December 30, 2022.
