On 14 December this year, the Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Badriddin Abidov, chaired the regular meeting of the country’s negotiation team on WTO accession.
The meeting informed that at the present stage the ministries and agencies need to accelerate the process of elaborating additional negotiating positions based on the updated proposals of WTO member countries on market access for goods and services.
In addition, specific tasks have been identified to advance the next rounds of bilateral negotiations with WTO member countries on market access for goods and services, as well as consultations with the Secretariat of the Organization for the timely implementation of previous agreements.
At the same time, the conference carried out a critical assessment of the activities of each specialist in the thematic working groups involved in the WTO accession process, including in the preparation of system documentation and negotiating positions, as well as their implementation.
