Uzbek Foreign Minister on Monday (December 12) met with USAID Administrator and her Deputy, Samantha Power and Isobel Coleman. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation, as well as further implementation of priority programs and projects, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.
USAID Administrator confirmed her firm commitment to providing every assistance in the implementation of the tasks outlined in the strategy for the development of the new Uzbekistan for 2022- 2026. In particular, USAID intends to closely coordinate its efforts with U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the statement highlights. Besides, Samantha Power welcomed Uzbekistan’s efforts to ensure the openness of public administration, freedom of speech as well as the development of civil society.
In her turn, Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman assured that the agency is to continue to implement projects of financial and technical assistance, contribute to the modernization of the energy sector, the introduction of renewable energy sources, development of water management areas,s and other spheres.
