On July 16, 2022, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan considered and approved Jamshid Khojayev's candidacy for the position of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments and Foreign Economic Affairs - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade.
Jamshid Khojayev was born in 1979. In 2000, he graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics. As a scholarship holder of the "Umid" fund, in 2003 he graduated from Birmingham University in Great Britain, holding a master’s degree in international economic relations and public administration. During his career, he worked at the Central Bank, the National Bank, and the Chamber of Accounts.
At the end of 2017, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Trade, and in 2019, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture.
In accordance with Uzbek law, members of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis should consider and approve a candidate before the appointment to any position in the Cabinet of Ministers.
